We have built our reputation on doing right by our customers. Focused on customer service, we have developed a process to produce high quality, energy-efficient smart homes with a positive building experience. Every time. Budget can sometimes be the elephant in the room when building a home. However it is our priority to talk about it upfront and do what it takes to be within your comfort zone. Our philosophy is to make it work. Communication plays a big part in our process. And homeowners really appreciate our team’s open office policy. We truly treat our clients like family — including you’re invited to drop in any time. 

Being a true design build firm, you will utilize our in-house architect and designer. They are an asset to our team and exceed our homeowners expectations. Owner

Greenville native, Jimmy, has been going the extra mile for his homeowners for over 20 years. He is the heart of J.Francis Builders. He takes pride in being involved in every aspect of your building process and guiding you through the decision making. Jimmy believes that every project is one of a kind and personalizes each home. His passion for commitment and long-term relationships exceeds his client’s expectations and has become part of the company culture.

JOE FRANCIS

Project Manager/Land Development

Joe was drawn to building after obtaining his bachelor’s degree in finance with an emphasis in real estate from Clemson University. He now oversees the land process from the perspective of an owner and investor. He will conduct an in-depth market analysis of the risks and rewards and deployment of capital, to meet or exceed investment objectives. Joe maintains meaningful relationships with industry stakeholders, government officials, land owners, developers, brokers, attorneys and financial institutions. Joe is constantly seeking to find new investment opportunities in both land acquisition and the development of real estate.

BEN FRANCIS

New Home Sales

Ben developed a knowledge for all building materials after working in sales at one of the largest building supply companies in the US. Upon moving back to SC to join the J. Francis team, he has been able to directly tie that knowledge back into the custom home building process and bring a deeper level of understanding and communication to homeowners.

JESSE TERHUNE

Construction Manager

With 15 years of construction experience Jesse is well equipped to handle any project. He insures that the scope and direction of each custom home is on track by scheduling regular on site inspections with our clients. His eye for detail, passion for quality, and integrity in building makes him the perfect construction manager for our team.  Jesse’s calm, cool and collected demeanor is the perfect compliment to our building process.

Zach Terhune

Project Manager

When it comes to building a custom home, organization is key. Zach plays an integral role in project management and works with our clients every step of the way. He takes great pride in every client’s project. Zach oversees budgets, contracts, spec sheets and understands all aspect of the job. His constant communication keeps everyone ahead of the game. He is a true asset to our homeowners, he gives everyone confidence while gong through the building process.

gary henderson 

Superintendent/Project Manager

Local Greenville resident and seasoned construction expert Gary Henderson joined the J. Francis team in 2021. His 30-year construction track record makes him a perfect fit for his role as Superintendent. His extensive construction knowledge, friendly and positive attitude, and professionalism back his talent for managing and overseeing complicated home builds. Gary sets the quality of home and customer standards above all, resolving issues with thoughtful attention, and going the extra mile to achieve customer satisfaction. During his time off he enjoys boating, fishing, and camping in the upstate!

 

JAKE TERHUNE

Assistant Superintendent

Jake directly assists in day-to-day operations. Everything from managing inspections to pulling permits and coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors on daily tasks. Jake ensures the job sites are kept clean and presentable throughout the building process. When he isn’t working he enjoys riding motorcycles/dirt bikes, going up to the mountains, and spending time with family/friends

april hillard

Accountant

April is from one of our favorite places, High Point, NC, and recently moved to Greenville. She is our “behind the scenes person” and is responsible for all in house accounting, building relationships with local banks as well as our clients. April has an extensive background in new construction and loves seeing a project from the beginning stages to completion. She is thrilled to join our team and we are lucky to have her. When not working, April enjoys spending time with her two grandsons, decorating her home, and weekend getaways with friends.

melissa ragsdale 

In-House Designer

Melissa has a passion for home design and brings a great eye to any homeowner’s vision. Her charismatic personality paired with her attention to detail, makes for a beautifully designed custom home. She is an asset to J Francis Builders. Her personality and matching customer taste to selection has become invaluable. She creates life long relationship with our customers long after the building process is complete.

Marketing Coordinator

Carrier Turner is a native Greenvillian, a certified interior designer, and a marketing and sales expert. A background in business ownership and entrepreneurship combined with a love for interiors made marketing for a local builder a natural fit. Carrie takes pride in learning about each unique client and their preferred home design. She makes it her goal to showcase the genuine culture of JFB through its branding and messaging. During her time off, Carrie enjoys home projects, the outdoors, and spending time with her two kids, dog, and husband.
